About the Team

Message from Commander:

Initially, a few years back when founding members, Andy and I, thought of forming a team, our goal was to take our paintball hobby a bit more serious. If anything, it would give our group of friends an identity to play for. So we tossed out the idea to our friends and were met with resoundingly positive responses, if not more ambitious than originally expected. Thus forming the Snypes Brigade scenario team.

The name itself has been something of a regularity for the inagural members. Originally conceived as a short story, I wrote in the 6th grade, detailing a mercenary unit run by four brothers with a vendetta against their former employer who betrayed and murdered their former commander and father. The unit was known for their might, stealth and deadly efficiency. From short story, the unit took on life in the world of gaming. Either as created characters or online clans, the unit and personas seemed to become a part of it all. After a few years of fragging under the "SB" flag, we moved onto the next logical step, paintball.

Paintball acts as a perfect platform for the Snypes Brigade to get back to its roots. It requires teamwork, ability to adapt, communication and a common goal to succeed. Also, there is no cookie-cutter way to succeed, requiring constant learning which allows many people to get involved. Nothing makes me more proud to see one of my teammates strategies executed to perfection, even if it is used against me.

Since the Snypes Brigade mythos has been around for many years, many newer members are not as attached, or even know what it means. To solve this, our team has been formed with the foundation and ideals that eminate from the original story. As a team we hold three principles in high regard:

Respect.  Teamwork.  Fun.

1) Respect: We strive to treat our teammates, but more importantly our fellow players with respect. Any disrespect should be dealt with appropriately on the field. "Actions speak louder than words."

2) Teamwork: Without teamwork victory is nearly impossible. It is what binds a team together, making each of its players better, while working towards victory. Strength, stealth and effectiveness is what the Snypes Brigade was known for, none of these would be possible without teamwork.

3) Fun: Paintball is above all a game. Respect and teamwork make it more fun. Some people like extra gear and mod-kits, some are happy with stock equipment, either way it boils down to having fun. If you cannot have fun while doing something, especially a hobby, then why do it?

Thank you and happy hunting.
